David Devine is one of Australia’s preeminent real estate icons, having become nationally known for his 27 year tenure as CEO of Devine Limited. From its inception in 1983, David grew Devine from what was just a small house and land organisation, to a top 500 Australian company, which changed the shape of the housing industry in Australia.
In 1995 David impacted on the welfare of thousands of Australians by introducing Australia’s first ‘No Deposit Finance’ offer, which afforded the opportunity of home ownership to thousands of people, who otherwise would been unable to raise deposits demanded by lenders at the time. This program is estimated to have helped 20,000 homebuyers over the course of its history and rocketed Devine Homes to No. 1 position in the first homebuyer market – a position it held for years. David also sought to make Brisbane inner city living more accessible, by creating, building and marketing quality apartment buildings that were affordable for the average homebuyer and investor. Devine’s seven largest projects of this nature led the market in terms of sales, for years.
